How to Install nox in Python
Flexible test automation.
pip install nox
What is nox?
Flexible test automation.
is a command-line tool that automates testing in multiple Python environments, similar to [tox][]. Unlike tox, Nox uses a standard Python file for configuration:
Nox is designed to be installed globally (not in a project virtual environment), the recommended way of doing this is via [pipx], a tool designed to install python CLI programs whilst keeping them separate from your global or system python.
You can also use [pip][] in your global python:
Quick Start
Minimal example to get started with nox:
import nox
print(nox.__version__)
Installation
pip (standard)
pip install nox
Virtual environment (recommended)
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate # Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
pip install nox
pip3
pip3 install nox
conda
conda install -c conda-forge nox
Poetry
poetry add nox
Dependencies
Installing nox will also install these packages:
Verify the Installation
After installing, confirm the package is available:
python -c "import nox; print(nox.__version__)"
If this prints a version number, installation succeeded. If you see a ModuleNotFoundError, see the errors section below.
